SamBooks push notifications are the alerts your computer shows you even when the app is closed: tax deadlines, SDI invoice outcomes, bank movements. They appear as system notifications — bottom-right on Windows, top-right on Mac. Here's how to turn them on and manage them in a few clicks.
What they are (and where they appear)
Unlike the in-app alerts (the bell), push notifications come from the operating system: you see them even if the browser is minimised or the app is closed. On Windows they appear bottom-right and stay in the Action Center; on Mac top-right. Clicking one opens SamBooks straight on the relevant event.
Step 1 — Turn on notifications
You have two routes:
- From the banner: after logging in, in the «Take SamBooks with you» card at the bottom, click «Turn on notifications».
- From Settings: go to Settings → User profile → Notifications and use «Turn on push notifications».
Step 2 — Allow notifications in the browser
The browser shows a small permission request: click «Allow». From then on notifications are active on this device. (If you click «Block» by mistake, see how to unblock them below.)
What you'll receive
Notifications warn you about the events that really matter:
- upcoming tax deadlines,
- invoice outcomes (delivered, rejected…),
- bank movements and other events at your company.
They apply to this device
Push notifications are tied to the device and browser you're using. If you work on several computers, turn them on for each one to receive them everywhere.
Manage or turn off
In Settings → User profile → Notifications you can:
- turn push notifications on or off for this device,
- choose, for each type of alert, which channels to receive it on.
The in-app notifications (the bell inside SamBooks) always stay on.
Notifications blocked? How to unblock them
If you once clicked «Block», the browser no longer shows them. To re-enable:
- Chrome / Edge: click the padlock to the left of the
sambooks.aiaddress → Notifications → Allow (or «Default»), then reload the page.
Once the permission is back, return to Settings → Notifications and click «Turn on push notifications» again.
